Mechanical Design Engineer

£40k to £45k (DOE)

37.5hrs per week

My client is looking to recruit a Mechanical Design Engineer, the role will help to enhance the company's analytical capability for their products. This role will also play a key part in developing new innovations, continuous improvement activities and process improvements. The work will vary from project work, with multiple products to specific product designs.

My client designs, develops and manufactures complex systems within the construction industry.

Key Responsibilities 

The following list is an indication of roles and responsibilities you will be expected to undertake as the Mechanical Design Engineer. The list is not exhaustive and intended as guidance only, but in general you will: 

• Develop and Document design processes for products designed within the company 
  
  
• Design prototypes, assessing and reviewing mechanical components and assemblies
  
  
• Produce high quality concept designs, drawings, schedules and diagrams to suit the business needs and customer requirements
  
  
• Design of fixtures and test equipment
  
  
• Interface with other departments, contractors, suppliers and internal project teams to ensure that the drawings produced are delivered to what is required for internal and external customers
  
  
• Supporting of design, manufacturing and shop floor activities when required
  
  

The Right Person

The successful Mechanical Design Engineer will have a strong background in product design and analysis within a manufacturing background, and possess the following skills 

• Excellent proficiency in using AutoDesk Inventor
  
  
• Experience of Finite Element Analysis (FEA) Simulation and hand calculations
  
  
• Experience of managing products / projects from conception to completion
  
  
• Experience Design prototypes, assessing and reviewing mechanical components and assemblies
  
  
• Experience with the Design of fixtures and test equipment
