Precision People is proud to be working with an industry-leading established company with upwards of 50 years experience in the engineering industry. Specialising in surface non-destructive testing (NDT) the company is looking for an ambitious individual to train up in various testing, calibration and manufacturing methods. 

The Role - Trainee NDT Technician:

• Conducting a range of non destructive testing to a broad range of manufactured parts and components.
• Conducting process control checks according to written procedures.
• Processing customer hardware with care, making accept/reject decisions, and generating test reports.
• Liaising with customers during hardware delivery and collection.
• Calibrating equipment both in-house and on-site at customer premises (training provided)
• Recording and reporting calibration findings.
• Manufacturing NDT equipment, including internal wiring and fabricating components using tools such as lathes and pillar drills.
• Demonstrating abilities during internal and external audits and examinations.

Key Experience / Skills Needed - Trainee NDT Technician:

• Holds assembly, fitting, quality, testing or inspection experience within a mechanical manufacturing environment
• Experience working to written specifications, following engineering procedures and/or recording of test/check results
• Holds NDT qualification (EN4179 Level 2 or similar) or holds an applicable mechanical/engineering qualification
• Full UK driving licence required for this position.
• Good verbal and written communication skills for following procedures and compiling reports.
• Professional demeanour for interacting with clients and auditing agencies.
• Flexible approach to work, able to adapt to changing requirements and work independently as part of a small team.

Salary/Package - Trainee NDT Technician:

• Starting salary between £24,000-£30,000
• Starting salary will be dependent on experience
• Working hours Monday-Thursday 7:30am-4:30pm, Friday 7:30pm-1:30pm
